Daniel Taylor Photography fell in love with Emily and Blane within minutes of meeting them. They are crazy dog people like we are (check out their Auburn engagement photos with dogs Lola and Amber ), and they wanted incredible photography.
Southern to the core and impeccable in taste, we knew these two Auburn students would have an unforgettable destination Emerald Coast wedding. And it was. Have you experienced an Alys Beach wedding? Or a Fonville Press wedding reception? Oh. My. Word. Alys Beach is a new, chic development about 30 minutes west of Panama City Beach that is one of the most photogenic I’ve seen, ever. My friend Tara called it “photographer’s eye candy.”
This is wedding photographer’s heaven, Alys Beach is. And neighboring Rosemary Beach, too.

Emily's bridal bouquet of pink tulips and Blane's khaki suit were great for an Alys Beach wedding. Daniel Taylor Photography.
Emily and Blane had a fantastic team of Birmingham vendors for their Florida fete, lead by wedding planner Meghan Cease and the wedding divas of M. Elizabeth Events. Gorgeous florals and designas were by Kathy Mezrano herself and sought-after wedding floral designer Andy Hopper of KG Designs. This team worked like crazy to make Emily’s beach wedding dream come true, setting up everyone on the beach in time for a photo shoot, then relocating the entire decor to nearby Fonville Press when storms rolled in. Folks, that’s service.
Delectable cupcakes were from Dreamcakes. The wonderful Lamb Family violin ensemble was stellar, and people are still talking about the hair and make-up team from the always incredible Joyce’s Formals salon (even if you’ve never set foot near a pageant). Every moment was captured by the fantastic video stylings of Lance Holloway Productions. From the beach area several fantastic vendors rounded out the team, including Emerald Coast Catering, who fed the hungry wedding guests with beautiful food.

Some brides rely on a total team of local vendors for destination weddings, but plenty bring in trusted wedding pros from home. Why would a bride bring in an entire time? For peace of mind. Some wedding vendors who work in sought-after wedding destination locations are fantastic, no doubt about it. But there are also those who are moderately priced and moderately talented, with a moderate approach to service — or even worse, cheese and cookie-cutter. You’re going to be hundreds of miles away, right? How effectively can you coordinate with and get to know them them beforehand? Or really make your point from another state if you’re unhappy?
Local vendors? We’re right here with you. We meet with you beforehand, learn about your vision, coordinate with the other vendors (for free). And we’re going right back home where your circle of influence is strong. In short, we want your expectations exceeded. And because we’re there only for you, you won” suffer from our lack of attention or from competing weddings on the same day. It’s all about you, baby!![]()
Every one of the wedding vendors who made the trip to Alys Beach was just mad about Blane and Emily, and their families, including Emily’s mom, Jan or “Mimi” as she is known. Mimi poured her heart and soul into her baby girl’s wedding and it was one for the books.
Emily and Blane, we hope the roughest waters in your life have passed and that your journey together is filled with joy, laughter and blessed time. It was our profound pleasure to be part of your exquisite Alys Beach wedding.

These photos turned out so perfectly! You never would know that there was a monsoon that day! I think my favorite just might be the picture of the sweet flower girl tearing her kissing ball to shreds. So glad we got to be a part of this day for this wonderful family
