Sheena and Nick had a simply beautiful Southern wedding at Carraway Davie House in Liberty Park, Ala. Sheena is one of the most Southern girly girls I’ve ever met, and she chose my favorite color, pink, for her big day. Nick is her tall, dark and handsome prince, who was just plain dashing in his khaki suit.
This was our first wedding at Carraway Davie, which is such a pretty venue. And we can’t say enough about the catering and the flowers–simply great.
What I appreciate about all-inclusive venues is that if there’s ever a problem, it can usually be solved within minutes. If a boutonniere isn’t the right color or happens to snap off (guys can be tough on florals), the designer can whip up a new one with no dramas. And Carraway’s Corretti Catering also passed my toughest test–yes, there was good food available right till the end of the reception.
The gorgeous wedding cake was from Dreamcakes, and is one of my favorites to date from our friends Jan Moon and her daughter, Katie Moon. We capped off the night with a short wedding photo after-session at the Tutwiler Hotel. We were blown away.
You’ll remember Sheena and Nick had one of the most memorable engagement stories I’ve heard–they unintentionally found themselves in the middle of a Zombie crawl. Intrigued? Read more and see their beautiful engagement photos at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.
