This wedding dress is so gorgeous that we had to share it.

Dylan Lauren, the candy mogul and only daughter of designer Ralph Lauren, married hedge fund founder Paul Arrouet earlier this summer.

Her gown was much-anticipated, created by her famous father with help from her mother and herself. Details are in the August 2011 issue of Vogue, and the silhoutte is simply stunning. The silk tulle-and-duchess satin mermaid gown is truly a fresh take on wedding dresses.

Bravo, Ralph Lauren. We hope you consider continuing your venture into wedding design.

1. Consider sleeves. A wedding dress with sleeves is a gorgeous return to elegance–it’s regal, not Hollywood red carpet. And maid-of-honor Pippa wows in a bias-cut skirk, draped neck, and yes, sleeves!

2. Don’t skip the details. Love this photo of the dress detail and the ring.

3. Draw inspiration from the classics. Kate’s dress was reportedly inspired by movie star Grace Kelly’s dress when she became Princess Grace of Monaco in 1956. Take a cue from the classics and interpret modern updates, such as Kate’s sleek veil.

4. Bring in the trees and the red carpet. Trees give a great, fresh sense of the outdoors. And the red carpet aisle runner adds glamour and photo interest. 5. Stay in the moment. This just-between-us moment is certainly going to be a wedding favorite for its real emotion.

6. Slow down the recessional. So many couples race down the aisle after the wedding. A more deliberate, formal recession allows for more great photos!

The thing every bride can glean from a royal wedding is the sense of timelessness. There’s very little that’s trendy in a royal wedding, though it may set trends afterward, such as the Par Engsheden bridal gown. Sticking with unusual styles that aren’t faddish, and clean, sleek, classic hairdos will ensure that your children aren’t loaded with ammunition to make fun of your photos 10-15 years from now.

“If you hire a photographer who doesn’t usually do “posed” pictures, you might be unhappy with the result,” Marcus said. “Experienced photographers who really know how to pose a bride will never have her feeling that she looks too heavy in her dress. I always have my brides lean forward in the photograph to eliminate double chins. A bride who is worried about her figure should also purchase an appropriate dress that she feels comfortable in and accentuates all of her positive features.”
