Daniel Taylor Photography Wedding in OTMJ Bridal Issue Winter 2013

We here at Daniel Taylor Photography are so tickled to have several features in this week’s bridal issue of the always-wonderful Over the Mountain Journal newspaper. A big thanks to awesome new editor Keysha Drexel, and photo-loving publisher Maury Wald for sharing our work. Check out the issue, it’s a great resource for brides and their families.

Here is the feature on Brandon and Lindsey’s romantic outdoor November wedding at Cameron Oaks Farm in Wilsonville. To read the entire article, click here.

We loved working with terrific Birmingham wedding planner Ouida Jones-Johnson for making the day run so smoothly, and the team of other great vendors. Thanks to Brandon and Lindsey for letting us capture their day, and for having such a photo-worthy wedding.

Chicago & Indianapolis Destination Engagement Photography

Daniel Taylor Photography

We had to get a photo of Shannon and Peter in front of the infamous “Bean” statue at Millennium Park in Chicago. Photo by Daniel Taylor Photography.

It was truly a dream come true for Daniel Taylor Photography to work with Shannon and Peter on their two-state engagement session. We traveled to gorgeous Chicago and to Peter and Shannon’s current home of Indianapolis for their engagement photo extravaganza. The duo had about six outfit changes over two states in two days. It was an absolute blast y’all!

Shannon hails from Mountain Brook, Ala. and Peter co-owns a gym in Indianapolis. Both of them are hard-core fitness fiends, so they had plenty of energy for the two-day session. Some of our favorite highlights of the trip included Traderspoint Creamery, a gorgeous organic farm and restaurant in Indiana, the L-O-V-E statue at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, as well as the Bean statue at Millennium Park in downtown Chicago. Daniel actually came down with a grisly case of food poisoning in Chicago, so all the Windy City images are from Kelli.

The lovebirds were referred to us by hair artist extraordinaire, Jessica Lazarus, who is Shannon’s cousin. We first met Jessica a couple of years ago after hearing great things about her talent for special event hair from some other Birmingham wedding pros. She quickly became our personal hair stylist and friendl. We were simply honored that she would recommend us to her family!

Congratulations Shannon and Peter! We are beyond excited for your wedding!

And yep, you’ll notice our old logo that we used until the later part of 2012 when our terrific team member Rachel Bertone put together our new bubble design, which we’re still grinning about!

Alene Gamel of I Do, I Do planned Alex and Ben’s amazing American Village nuptials. She made the day run so smoothly for the couple and we are always blown away by her work! Elegance, organization, budget advice and logistics like nobody’s business make Alene’s bride’s some of the most relaxed in Birmingham. And if you want to talk experience, she’s one of just a handful of master bridal consultants in the world.

Daniel Taylor Photography

We were thrilled that wedding planner Alene Gamel of I Do, I Do entrusted her 2013 photos with a more casual feel to Daniel Taylor Photography.

Daniel Taylor Photography

We loved this bridal portrait of Alex in the American Village chapel round window. Loved it so much that we created a new Daniel Taylor Photography ad with it. Brides are this serene when they have a great planner, like Alene Gamel of I Do, I Do.

Ginny Au of Bits & Bobs Events helped Danielle and Stephen with their gorgeous Samford Reid Chapel wedding and reception at Veranda on Highland restaurant. She was amazing at styling the day and allowing the couple to incorporate some lovely personal details. She also helped them with their adorable book-themed engagement session, which was featured on the Love and Lavender blog. Ginny is the only planner we’ve worked with who is also an experienced stylist, which she says translates the couple’s most personal details into visual storytelling on their wedding day. We love how that looks in photos! She also created a beautiful styled photo shoot in whites and pale greens for an upcoming feature article.

Bits & Bobs Events

Planner Ginny Au of Bits & Bobs floored us when she asked to use this portrait from an upcoming feature article by Daniel Taylor Photography for her web site and Facebook page.

We worked with our talented and dear friend Meghan Cease of M. Elizabeth Events this year, and as always, were so impressed with her work. Meghan planned Holly and Murray’s amazing destination wedding in Point Clear, Ala., Katie and Rob’s fun soiree at United Highlands Methodist Church and The Club, and Meghan’s brother Alan’s wedding to his beautiful bride Allison at Samford’s Reid Chapel. Meghan’s New York corporate party-planning experience shows in every event, and Meghan is still legendary for her chandelier-laden tailgate parties at Ole Miss. If you want a gorgeous, detail-packed wedding that your guests won’t soon forget, from classic to over-the-top wedding styles, you’ll love Meghan Cease.

DTP Best of 2012: Make the Most of the Outdoors

Half of Daniel Taylor Photography is from the South, which allows us to photograph lots of wedding in the great outdoors. And we love it! The beautiful Southern landscape is perfect for a wedding and allows for pretty details that wouldn’t translate indoors. Folks, there’s just no substitution for the feel of natural light in wedding photography. Even if you have an indoor ceremony and reception, make time for some outdoor photos.

Take a look at some of our best Birmingham and Alabama outdoor wedding moments from 2012.
